About the Author
Glass plates were ever made as positives?
My mother sent me two glass plates that are not negatives, they are positives. They have some pretty good detail. The images seem to depict the era of realist painters (ie looks like a reproduction of a painting), late 1800s to early 1900s. Were these common and what do you call them?
Very common. They are most likely Magic Lantern slides. They were made and sold for decades.
